Peter Hook, one of our national treasures takes time out speak to Carl on Outreach Radio. Not only the bass behind two of our greatest bands of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s but also a key figure in one of the most iconic nightclubs ever. Starting in the 1976 Peter talks about the bands formation and working with Ian Curtis. The releases of Unknown Pleasures and Closer the two albums completed before Ian’s untimely suicide.
One of the best known bassists then chats about the formation of New Order and some of the key songs such as Blue Monday, Confusion, Thieves Like Us, Shellshock, World In Motion and Shame of the Nation before discussing his more recent success with Monaco.
Peter tells us about his scrape with the law when they were hunting the Yorkshire Ripper and the rather costly business venture to run the Hacienda nightclub in Manchester.
